Studio Policies

Attendance

  • Students are expected to arrive on time.  Lessons cannot be extended due to late arrival.

  • If the teacher is late, the missed lesson time will be made up at the end of the lesson or scheduled at another mutually agreed time.

Tuition Late Fee

  • Tuition is prepaid and non-refundable except as specifically stated in these policies

  • A $15 late fee applies to monthly tuition received after the 28th of the prior month. Pay-by-trimester payment deadlines will be communicated before each trimester begins.

Student Cancellations & 24-Hour Notice

  • A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to reschedule a lesson in order to receive a make-up lesson credit.

  • Requests received less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time are not eligible for a make-up lesson credit, with no exceptions. This policy is consistently applied to all students to ensure fairness.

  • If a student is unable to attend in person with less than 24 hours' notice, an online lesson at the scheduled lesson time is available.

  • All lesson cancellations and scheduling requests must be made through the front desk.

Make-up Lessons

Make-up lessons are offered as a courtesy and are subject to teacher availability.

  • Each student may receive up to 6 make-up lesson credits per calendar year.

  • Make-up lesson credits may be shared among siblings.

  • Make-up lesson credits cannot be applied toward tuition or exchanged for refunds.

  • Once a make-up lesson has been scheduled, it cannot be rescheduled.

  • If a student misses a scheduled make-up lesson, the make-up lesson will be forfeited.

Effective September 1, 2026, all newly issued make-up lesson credits will expire 6 months from the original missed lesson date.

Make-up lesson credits issued before September 1, 2026 will be Grandfathered. These credits remain valid until December 31, 2027.

 Missed Lesson

  • If a student does not show up in lesson, there will be no refund or tuition credit

  • Missed lessons are not eligible for make-up lesson credits.

Online Class Option

  • Students who are unable to attend in person may request to attend their lesson online instead. Advance notice by phone or email is required.

Substitute Teachers

  • If your regular teacher cannot attend your class because they are ill or dealing with an emergency, we will assign a substitute teacher.

  • If a substitute teacher is not available, the class will be canceled, and you will be given a credit the following month for the missed lesson.

Summer Breaks

  • We understand that students may have various summer plans or vacations. Students may hold their lesson time for a maximum of 8 weeks. If a student's break exceeds 8 weeks, their enrollment will be considered inactive. Upon returning, the student must re-enroll and pay the current registration fee or Cadence Club Membership fee, whichever applies.

  • While on summer break, students are welcome to schedule individual lessons, subject to availability. Cadence Club membership will continue to expire according to its original expiration date and will not be extended because of a summer break.

Withdrawal

  • Students wishing to withdraw must provide at least 14 days' advance notice.

  • Cadence Academy of Music reserves the right to refuse lessons to anyone. If the student has already enrolled, their tuition will be refunded on a prorated basis.

  • Any unused make-up lesson credits will be forfeited upon withdrawal.

Physical Contact

To help students develop proper posture, hand position, and playing technique, teachers may occasionally use brief physical contact, such as gently touching a student's hands, wrists, forehead, upper back, or other non-sensitive areas. If you or your child are uncomfortable with any physical contact, please discuss your concerns with the teacher so that alternative teaching methods can be used.
