The teachers at Cadence have years of experience and are specifically trained to provide each student with a customized lesson plan to meet their individual needs, abilities, and objectives. With private lessons, students can advance at his/her own pace while still being accountable for their progress.

We work with students from age 5 and up, beginner to professional level.  If you have a passion for learning, or need help preparing for conservatory exams (CM or ABRSM), we invite you to contact us for a consultation and trial lesson with one of our instructors. Once you have completed this, you will receive a personalized lesson plan and/or curriculum that will allow you to master fundamental techniques while expanding your love of music.

Our Private Lesson Sequence

1. Consultation/Trial Lesson

2. Weekly practice instruction and/or an assignment after every lesson

Consultation/

Trial Lesson

At Cadence, regular lessons will only be scheduled after a trial consultation/trial lesson. At the end of this initial session, the teacher will recommend a lesson plan and/or curriculum that best suits the student. The trial lesson will begin after a brief consultation, which will include:

  • Learning about the student’s past musical instrument lesson experience

  • Uncovering the student’s musical interests and goals

  • Evaluating the student’s current abilities, skills, and knowledge (transfer students only)

If you have already taken private lessons, please bring your music books to the trial lesson.

If you decide to sign up for weekly lessons after your consultation/trial lesson, our front desk associate will assist you with the following:

  • Registration and scheduling

  • Membership Enrollment for Cadence Club

Weekly Practice Instruction

Clear individualized instruction allows students, parents, and teachers to keep track of progress. A practice instruction sheet allows teachers to assign homework and recommend the length of each week’s practice time. We recommend that students bring a 3-ring binder along with their books to every lesson.
